17 questions for 17 years.

I haven't posted in soooo long, so I thought I would mix it up a bit and do a 441 type question thing that I saw someone do on a blog that I follow. Here goes!

1.How long have you been blogging? What got you started on Blogging?

I think I started around the end of May this year (2012) so I haven't really been blogging for long at all!
I think what got me started on blogging was whenever I read peoples blogs I followed it always made me get an itch to start having a go myself. I have always loved writing so I thought it was a great way to keep track of my life so I can read back on it when I am older and if I am still using this blog, to see how I progress along in life and in the blog itself!

2. Did you go to college? If so where, and what did you study?

I think this is meaning the american word for college meaning University?
Well I haven't been to Uni yet as I am not old enough and need to finish up college (6th form ect) first and get my A-Levels!
I am studying History, Law, English Literature and French at A-level!

3. Where have you traveled?

I have visited a lot of Europe like many parts of France and Spain, I loved Barcelona specially! Greece, Italy, and I have visited Ireland SOOO many times as I have a lot of family from there.
I also had the most amazing opportunity to visit Canada (British Columbia side) We had the most amazing 2 weeks there and we traveled from Calgary all the way to Vancouver, visiting lots of places in between!
I love travelling!

4. If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?

Oh gosh, is it bad that I want to say clothes? Yehh I would just love to run in to town/online and just buy so many cute clothes, shoes etc!
I would also book a flight over to see my friend in Canada who has been over there for nearly 2 years now :(

5. What are your 3 biggest pet peeves?

-When people do that disgusting snorting thing when trying to clear their throat/nose. It sounds so gross and just makes me want to puke :|
-When people walk extremely slow without any consideration that they are making it hard for people to get around them/might need to be somewhere
-Scratching your fork or knife on a plate by accident when trying to eat. Eeeek hate that feeling/sound!!

6. What is your favorite movie?

Ohh my gosh I have sooooo many favourite movies so it is so hard for me to chose just one!
But if I had to chose it would have to be Man on Fire. Wow it is such an amazing, moving film!

7. What is your drink of choice; wine, beer, or liquor. Or Water, Soda, Tea?

I love a good cup of tea! Although if a Starbucks Frappuccino was on the list, hand down that would be my drink of choice!

8. What is something you enjoy to do when you have me time?

As boring as it may sound, probably either chilling watching a movie or something interesting on YouTube!
I love the Shaytards on YouTube so watching their vlogs always makes me smile!

9. If you could have a $10,000 shopping spree to one store, which store would it be?
I LOVE Zara! So if i had $10,000 no doubt about it, it would be spent in Zara!
10. Share with us an embarrassing moment of your past? Or present.

Just ask my friends and family, or to be fair anyone that knows me, I have way too many embarrassing moments!
To think of one it would be when I was trying to act sophisticated when I was out at a restaurant with my girls. There was a really attractive waiter who was serving us so when he came over to ask if we wanted any deserts, I started to sip on my drink. As he was asking me what I wanted, without thinking I started to talk with my mouth full of coke and dribbled it all down my chin. Ewww. So embarrassing!
11. What day would you love to relive again?

The whole 2 weeks of my vacation to Canada! I would give so much to be able to do that all again!
12. If your life was turned into a movie... what actor would play you?

I actually can't think of anyone. Ooops ahahah!
13. What are the jobs you had in high school/college/the early years?

So far I have had a job working in a charity shop, I have been a waitress and I am currently a Retail Assistant in Outfit Retail Store!
14. Show us a picture from high school or college.

My amazing and beautiful girls and me! The best thing about Secondary school and College <3

15. If you could travel
anywhere in the world, all expenses paid, where would you go?

Apart from the obvious answer of Canada, I would love to visit anywhere in the middle east like China, Japan or Thailand! It would be soooo cool! I would also love to visit Brazil or anywhere in the Caribbean!
I want to travel to so many places!
16. Show us the most current picture of you or you, or your family, or anything of meaning to you.

This sums up just ONE of the reasons why I love my family :') These crazy bunch mean the world to me!

17. Where do you see your life 5 years from now?

Hopefully if all things go as planned, I see myself in my 4th year of University studying Law! I see myself graduating (hopefully with a 2:1) and having a employer connection set up ready for my to start practicing in Law!!!

Life in your years.

It is always hard seeing a close friend or family member for the first time after them being diagnosed with an illness of some sort.
The emotions and angst of whether they will look or act the same as they did before the diagnosis or treatment and how your reaction will be to that, internally and physically on the outside. It's hard. Really hard to not slip in to the mode of treating them differently, patronizing them as in all reality they are not a different person.
Well that is how I have felt today, and I need to write it down.

I had been worried about this evening for a few days as we had organised to meet a very close family friend who has been diagnosed with blood cancer and has had a hard time recovering from a serious operation related to it. (more specifically his spine collapsed after the blood cancer effecting it, was basically eating away at his spine, weakening it and then one day it collapsed. This was completely out of the blue as before he/his spine collapsed no one, not even himself thought he was in ill health at all!)
It's terminal, not curable, but he does have time left to spend before the inevitable outcome.
He has to go through grueling treatment just to pro long the battle which in all honesty isn't really a battle. As he puts it himself it is like attempting to drive a car on a busy road with your eyes closed. 99% likely to be the suspected outcome.
Yet he wants to do this to see his young daughter grow up, to in a sense save her life, to not deprive her of a father as long as he is able to. It absolutely melts my heart.

I hadn't seen him since all of the surgery, diagnosis etc although most of my family has. I was scared today that he would look different or not be the same, weak or withdrawn mentally, and it scared me that I didn't know how I would react to that.
I didn't want to show I was upset. Its hard enough for him and his family as it is.

However when we met them I was amazed at how him he was. He was full of life like he has always been, cracking jokes, talking openly when people ask about how he is etc rather than making it the uncomfortable untouched subject that no one wants to bring up or mention.
Although the situation itself realistically has a bad out come, the way in which himself and his family are dealing with it is remarkable, inspiration and shows life is there to be enjoyed not mourned.
Illness and indeed death happen to all of us, yet it is the way in which we deal with it that makes the difference. To cherish life, to make the most of any situation, to love what we have and not what we don't have.

He is amazing for what he has done/is doing, where many others would moan, he embraces the things in life that matter.
"And in the end, it's not the years in your life that count. It's the life in your years" - Abraham Lincoln.

Craving Shoes.

As sad as this may sound I am CRAVING some new shoes!!
Not just casual everyday shoes but heels!
I am a sucker for a pair of nice high heels.

All of my heels at the moment are decent and I can make do with them but my only real 'oh my god so amazing' pair are really only suitable for certain occasions due to the immense amount of glitter on them, so they aren't really a versatile a girl can't have too many heels ay ;)
These are a few I was thinking about purchasing, obviously not all of them but if anyone (if anyone actually reads this crappy blog!) can let me know which pair I should get (or maybe two if my budget can stretch that far) then
that will be so helpful as I cannot decide! I love all of them too much!

Excuse the awful quality picture but it is the only one I have of my fav glitter shoes that I talked about! :D
These beauties are from River Island! They do look extremely high though :/
I love sling back heels at the moment. These are from Dune.
I love the heel and platform colour on these! From NewLook

Also from NewLook. Again I love the different pattern/colour on the heel and platform.
These are from Aldo but I found them on ASOS online. Gosh they are sooo amazing! Don't know whether there would be a limit in what you could wear with them though? :/

These are so pretty! Also found on ASOS.

These next ones are some AMAZING shoes I have seen on Pinterest but I can't seem to find them anywhere online to purchase :(
These are so pretty, I love the corsage on the top of the heel.

Now these are stunning! Gosh if I could find myself a pair of these!!!

The Olympic Torch 2012! (In my home town)

On Thursday evening at around 6:30ish the Olympic torch entered into my city's town center (the lace market in Nottingham)
The torch has been travelling around the UK and I believe that it was on day 42 when it came to us and there was a big celebration type thing in the center square with music, entertainment and events relating to the Olympics
The atmosphere was amazing as it was such an exciting experience when we were all waiting for the torch to come! It is crazy to me that the Olympics of 2012 are actually being held so close to me, in the country that I was born and raised in!
Now I know some people say 'its only a torch' which in all truth it is, but I think it holds more than the title of just being a torch. I have loved all the events that have been taking part around the UK and England at the moment like the Queens jubilee, the Euros and soon to be the Olympics. They really bring out the patriotic side in us all and give everyone a chance to celebrate just being British, cheesy as it is!
So here are a few pictures I took on Thursday. To be honest they aren't all that great as it was hard to get any decent pictures with the amount of peoples heads in the way!

Before all the crowds formed!

Member of Twist and Pulse tweeting a picture of everyone. woo!

A really bad quality of the Olympic torch :') I had to zoom in loads so it has awful pixels!

Riding in Katie's soft top mini on the way home! So much fun!

Here are some pictures in which I didn't take myself but show the torch through Nottingham and some torch bearers etc:

In true British style it was p*ssing it down!

Raining buckets!

Such a cutie!

Finally the rain cleared and it started to get quite sunny later on when the torch reached Nottingham City center.

I believe this was in Sherwood Forest (Robin Hood!)

The famous Torvill and Dean ice skating with the flame.

Torvill and Dean bringing in the Olympic flame to Nottingham City center! I was in that crowd somewhere!!

Let the games begin ;) (so so sooo cheesy!)
