Come see my spirit fly

Helllooo I hope you are all having a wonderful day.

This is going to be a really random post relating to nothing I have previously posted about.
I am currently doing the extended project qualification at college along with my other A levels and I decided to base mine around the controversy of capital punishment/the death penalty and whether it is right or wrong. This is a topic that really interests me and I wanted to know more about a very serious issue that is still being enforced in society yet there seems to be a taboo culture surrounding speaking about the issue.
I am going to be studying Law at University so I figured it would be perfectly related to that and I could learn new things about the topic as I went along.
I have made a survey to add into my report and I would be sooo grateful if people could take a few minutes to fill out the survey as truthfully as possible. I know some people will not know much at all about the death penalty but this information also helps in my report to discuss whether there is a lack of education and information out there about capital punishment.

Here is the link to the survey http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/KZRYWCR
I would be truly grateful if anyone would take the survey and hope this sparks interest in others to find out more.

MUA addiction! Another MUA haul and review.

I recently made another purchase online with MUA and I am still so impressed with the quality of their products. I ordered on the Monday and my products arrived the next day, I was so shocked at how quick it all arrived considering it was just standard shipping and not next day delivery. The price was amazing value for money as always and there was again a deal on that when you spend over £8 you got 3 free gifts. I jumped at the chance and as I had my eye on one of their lipsticks and I needed to pick up a few other things, it was the perfect deal.

I purchased 5 products and then got 3 free gifts.

These are the 3 product I received and despite them being free gifts they were the same great quality that MUA products are known for.

Although the eye lashes are not really my thing (I don't wear fake eyelashes and if I did I feel these would be way over the top for me) I know of a few friends who would love these eyelashes!

The MUA glitter nail polish is in Mermaid  and is such a pretty colour. It requires about 2 coats for it to look nice and pigmented but you could also get away with one coat if it is going over the top of another nail polish.

This is with 2 coats. Excuse the awful photo but I was working with bad lighting!

The lipgloss is in shade Too Much Fun. The finish is really smooth and it quite transparent with a hint of colour so it works really well over a multitude of lipstick colours. One thing I LOVE about the lipgloss is that the smell reminds me of Lush! Who doesn't want a lipgloss that smells like the inside of a Lush store?!

As you can see it is a very shiny, sheer lipgloss and the colour is really pretty.

The next few products are the things I bought. This is MUA's version of the Ciate velvet effect nails that use flocking. I really wanted to try out the velvet effect nails but didn't want to splash out on Ciate's price tag so when I saw what is essentially the same product but for £3 I had to get it. I got mine in the colour Fluff and Cuddles. I have tried this out and it works really well! I need to take some pictures and do a full on review but finding the time to do my nails at the moment as well as take pictures is proving to be quite difficult! Hopefully things will slow down with college soon (unlikely ahahhaha)

The next product I got was their matte perfect loose powder. I was really in need of some finishing powder to use after foundation and this stuff works perfectly. I got mine in colour translucent and it perfectly matches both my skin tone and the colour foundation I use. The finish is soft and matte yet but without drying out your face making it look powdery. I have seen a few people review this product and say it seems to stay on their skin very powdery and look thick but I haven't seemed to have this problem. A little goes a long way so for me it is the perfect loose powder.

This is the powder without the inside lid on which has little holes to let small amount of the powder out.

The next two products are both lip products and are my favourite purchases from MUA to date. The first is another MUA lipstick in shade Bare and I am absolutely in love with this lipstick! Firstly I want to address something that I had no idea about until today. The end of the lipsticks have what look like a block of colour in which I though was simply for show to indicate what colour lipstick it is. Well if you twist it, it is actually a little pot of lipgloss in the same colour as the lipstick! How cool is that? Its more of a lipbalm/gloss but I just thought I would share it because I had no idea until someone told me today. I would describe it as a nude with a slight warm pink tinge to it. It is super creamy and goes so well onto lips, even better with the use of a lip brush. I have a Mac satin lipstick in Faux and I would say this is pretty similar in comparison despite this one being slightly more pink. I looovvee this lipstick!

This lipstick looks slightly more nude in pictures than it really is, the camera doesn't seem to be picking up the pink tones.

This lipgloss in shade Sealed with a Kiss and goes so well with the lipstick from above and again the camera doesn't seem to be picking up the pink tones. It is a similar nude with hints of warm pink and is basically the lipstick in gloss form yet slightly pinker. The consistency is super luxurious and so smooth, I don't think I have tried a more satin smooth gloss. It is very pigmented so you can even wear this gloss alone without lipstick as it has great colour coverage alone.

This is the lipstick and gloss both together, the left is just the lipstick and the right is the lipstick with the gloss over the top. As you can see they go perfectly together!

Last but not least is my first ever MUA palette! I got mine in the palette Undressed and they are pretty neutral tones. There is a mixtures of matte and shimmery eye shadows and they all have awesome pigment pay off. For only £4 I think this is amazing value for money as the eye-shadows are of such a high quality and in such beautiful colours. There are other palettes available so if neutrals aren't really your thing there are brighter palettes available.

I apologies for the awful quality of the swatch photo, and the colours aren't in order as they appear in the palette but I was trying to get these pictures done quick! I swished my finger through the colour only once and this is the colour payoff, you get the idea of how pigmented they are with only one layer so once you apply them to your eyes and build up the colour it really does look beautiful.

Once again I was not disappointed with MUA and their awesome products and prices. I feel that MUA is such a good brand to pick up items when you don't want to part from too many of your pennies and at the same time get products that work well and are of such great quality.

If you are interested in buying from MUA you can find them here, and I believe at the moment they have an offer on of if you spend £30 or over you get everything half price + free shipping! So in fact if you spent £30 you are getting £30 worth of products for only £15! It may sound like I am sponsored by MUA to write all this stuff but I assure you I am not, I am just soooo obsessed with this brand!!!

Has anyone else tried MUA? How do you feel about the brand?

Urban Decay Naked Palette 2!

So I finally managed to get my hands on the Naked Palette 2, yayyy! I had been contemplating buying it for a while after I had heard so many people raving about it and I think pretty much every beauty Guru on YouTube seems to own either the Naked Palette 1 or 2.
Considering this product isn't exactly cheap I didn't want to just go in all guns blazing and do an impulse buy so I wanted to carry on doing some more research and check out peoples reviews in case it would be a complete waste of money. After I was convinced by all the amazing reviews by people on both blogger and YouTube I decided I needed to pick up one of the palettes.
Here came my other problem...I could not decide between palette 1 or 2!! I loved colours in both of them and I spent about half an hour in Debenhams picking up one palette and then the other not being able to make up my mind!
I finally settled on the number 2 and I am absolutely in love with it. I don't have a massive collection of eye shadows apart from my new MUA palette (going to be doing a haul/review of this soon) and the colours in the naked 2 palette are all amazingly pigmented and completely wearable. 100% worth the money.

Excuse my reflection in the mirror ahehehehe!
As you can see the colours are absolutely beautiful and such wearable shades. The lipgloss is such a pretty colour and smells like peppermint, yummm!

I apologise for the slight blurriness of the photo so the shades are as followed, left to right: Foxy, Half Baked, Bootycall, Chopper, Tease, Snakebite, Suspect, Pistol, Verve, YDK, Busted, Blackout.

I am so in love with this product and definitely glad I decided to take the plunge and buy it. It is worth the money and I know I am going to get a really good use out of this.

If you have the Naked 1 or 2 Palette what do you think of it? If you have both do you think it is worth having them both?

New Scentsy Bars.

I wasn't sure if it was possible but my addiction to candles/scentsy has increased further.
I was planning on using up all of my previous Scentsy wax bars before I bought anymore but I went online and saw too many scents that I wanted. The trouble with being able to shop online... I end up spending way more money than I want to each month, Oops ;)
So I ordered 6 more Scentsy bars, all in scents I hadn't yet tried and once again I am so pleased with them all and of course the customer service of the wonderful Scentsy consultant I use (you can find her website here)
If you haven't heard of Scentsy, they sell wonderful burners in which you can burn scented wax bars, and is an alternative to burning scented candles. Not only is it far safer than a candle, the scent throw from using wax bars is much more effective and fills your whole house with the wonderfully scented fragrances.
Anyway, on to the 6 new scents I got...

As you can see they are extremely well sized bars and you only need to use one cube at a time which will last for around 10-12 hours so you can get the scent out of just one cube many times. Also a great thing about these wax bars is if you feel like switching up a fragrance but haven't used all of the scent out of it yet, you simple pour the melted wax back into the packaging and it will be ready to be used again!

So one of the scents I was really determined to try was the Pumpkin Roll. I have heard tonnes of great reviews about this bar and I purchased these bars in the middle of Autumn(Fall) so it was the perfect seasonal scent. It is described as Creamy Pumpkin pie filling surrounded with yellow cake (I'm assuming that means sponge cake?) pecans  butter and spice. That pretty much sums this scent up in a nutshell. It is sweat, rich and soooo yummy! It is the perfect fall scent.

Another scent I was wanting to find was an apple scent. I am obsessed with apple flavoured and scented things and I had already purchased the Apple Press Scentsy bar which if you haven't seem my other post is Ah-mazing! Well I don't know about anyone else but I am a sucker for some apple pie so once I saw this bar I had to have it. We're talking warm flaky pastry with a spicy apple filling in a candle. If that doesn't sound yummy to you I don't know what does?!

The Mochadoodle wax bar was a scent I had been recommended by a few people to try. I believe it is one of their best selling scents and is described as; delicious roasted coffee beans and cocoa, balanced with sugar, caramel and heavy cream. As you can guess from the description this is a scent for real chocolate and coffee lovers, in which I am. I have found this bar to be a great scent to heat when I am revising or doing college work as it is very strong so it helps too keep me alert as well as having a delectable smell drifting around my room.

Another scent in which I had heard a few people talking about is Central Park Pralines. I really love pecans and cinnamon so as soon as I read the description of this bar I knew I would love it. Described as A decadent confection of rich roasted pecans, buttery caramel and cinnamon sugar. As you might be able to guess this scent is uber sweet but soooo lovely. I burnt this a lot around the end of autumn beginning of winter as I find it is the perfect warming scent for around the house. It is super rich so if you aren't a big fan of very rich scents you probably wouldn't find yourself liking this one.

On to a more softer scent, I picked up Enchanted Mist which includes scents of juicy apples, with rose petals and jasmine. As I mentioned this is a really soft and delicate scent so I love to burn it after I have tidied my room or having a bit of a chill. Its a very fresh scent and if you are a fan of more muted scents you will definitely love this one.

Last but definitely not least is my new all time favourite scent!!! Home sweet home which I believe has had a name change to my home? It is a super floraly scent which I absolutely love, I believe it is a mix of cinnamon and floral scents including jasmine. It is so sweet but not in an overpowering way. I really cant describe how amazing this smells but I am pretty sure this is a scent that anyone would absolutely love!

Although I say I am going to hold off from buying any more Scentsy for a while because I have enough to keep me going (wayyyy more than enough) I have a slight feeling you may be seeing another post in the near future...
But hay it is hard not to justify buying them, they all smell so good!

Has anyone tried Scentsy? If so what are your favourite scents?

Favourite Things!

I was going to do a favourite things post quite a while ago and made this post with all intention of posting it but I completely forgot and it has been sitting in my drafts for ages! Although I am going to do a post on my favourites for 2012 I don't think there is much harm in me posting this as well!
I still love these products and the only thing that has changed as my 'favourites' is the shampoo as I recently discovered the miracle that is Lush shampoo!! (ohh my gosh amazing, post to come soon) Anyway on to the favourites...

I am pretty sure most of you will have heard/used Aussi in some form and if you haven't I cannot stress how amazing this brand is. I have been using their 3 minute miracle hair treatment for a while now and it is the perfect once a week treatment to keep your hair luscious and smooth. I have extremely thin hair which can get quite damaged with any heat. Although I don't tend to use heat on my hair very often I always find that when I have used the deep treatment my hair just feels so healthy and smells amazing! I only recently started using the shampoo and conditioner and I have not been disappointed with them. Like all Aussi products they have a really nice scent and the results are wonderful. My hair feels and looks so healthy when I use these products and I have found that my hair has had much more volume since using these so it really must work! They are extremely affordable and seem to always have some sort of offer on such as 3 for £10 and with the size of the bottles they last for a veeeryy long time so they are extremely good value for money.

Apologies for the awfully blurred picture but I was working with bad lighting as it was quite late at night :(
So this is Garnier's anti black head wash. It is essentially a face wash with purifying ingredients to clean the face and has tiny little beads which are designed to unclog pores. I tend to suffer from random outbreaks and this product has really helped to prevent outbreaks, as well as just making my face feel nice and fresh. I tend to use this in the shower and so far it has been really effective. The scent is pleasant and it doesn't leave a nasty residue on the face like some blackhead washes can so it is an all round terrific product.

I am yet to meet someone who doesn't like soap and glory so it is no surprise that it would pop up in my favourite things. Although all of the products in the Soap and Glory line is my favourite thing I thought I would limit it to one so I didn't sound like a complete Soap and Glory obsessor! This is another product I use in the shower and is their Sugar Crush Body Scrub. As you may be able to see from the picture it is made with smashed brown sugar, sweet lime, almond oil and macadamia grains. You might not be surprised to find out that this stuff smell ahhhh-mazing (as all soap and glory products do) it has a great consistency as you can see from the picture below this one, and it is super exfoliating without irritating your skin. It is a massive tub and last for absolutely ages. I have had this for a while now and am still not even half way through with it. I love to use the Soap and Glory body butter after and I end up smelling like I just fell into a Soap and Glory factory, but hey I'm cool with that ;)

My next favourite item is the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation. As you may be able to see I got the shade ivory. This foundation is super silky and the perfect consistency as I am not a fan of really thick foundations yet I need enough coverage for my blemishes, this foundation is perfect. Rimmel is always well priced for the quality of their products. An all round great product and my go to foundation at the moment.

I have recently significantly increased my nail polish collection by buying a tonne of Barry M nail polish (boots deals are lethal) This is not even half of my stash and I have actually caved and bought even more in the Boots sale recently...ooopsies!  I love the range of nail polish they have and I find that they have a really great coverage and pigmentation. I have heard a few people saying that their Barry M tends to go globby after a while but I have found if I keep my polish out at room temperature this problem doesn't seem to occur. The light purple polish I have on the far left I bought quite a while back, about 4 months actually and as you can see from the picture it is still perfectly smooth! I especially love the silver sparkly polish as you can see I have used a considerable amount and it is sooo pretty on top of any colour. I may do an updated nail polish stash soon as it has considerably increased over the past few months. Would anyone be interested in that?
If you are curious as to the shades, from left to right: Berry, Pink Flamingo, Hologram, Grey, Mushroom.

Another fav that isn't really a product is the collar necklaces. I think they are a great way to jazz up a winter jumper or high necked top and are super comfortable to wear, I usually end up forgetting I am actually wearing one. The first is an actual collar cut out style necklace with sparkly silver beading from Dorothy Perkins. The second is just a beaded detailing collar without the solid fabric is from Topshop.

Another non product item is a birthday present I got for my 18th back in October. I have always wanted a Pandora bracelet and when my friends clubbed together the get me one I was so thrilled! I absolute love the plaited muted silver bracelet and the charm was perfect as I am not really a fan of the shiny Pandora charms, I much prefer the matte ones. I also think it's so cute that whenever I look at it, it will always remind me of my 18th and my wonderful girlies. I actually got another charm for Christmas from my parents but I took the picture before I got it. Although Pandora is quite expensive I really think it is wonderful investment for a birthday or special occasion.

And last but not least is another birthday present I received off my Auntie. I love sentimental things and quotes so this was the perfect gift for me. I also love giving and receiving things from family that mean something deeper than just being useful like some clothes or perfume. Call it soppy but I am so close to all of my family and they mean so much to me that I can't think of anything better to receive. It goes so well with the decor in my room as it is the vintage girly style and I have this proudly hanging by my desk. I also love how delicately it was packaged by my Auntie with a beautiful flowery box and softly lying on pink tissue paper. It is the small things!

I hope that you enjoyed this post and I apologise for not posting it sooner. If you have any of these products let me know what you thought of them.
If anyone has a similar blog post I would love to take a look at it so just link in the comments :)

Have a wonderful morning/evening/day :D

MUA Haul and Review!

So finally I am going to do my MUA Haul and review! I have had all of the products for a while now but I wanted to try them all out a few times in order to give a truthful review and be able to tell people how they worked for me :) Also I have been super busy with exams, work, blah blah blah you know the drill :P

When I purchased from MUA there was a 40% off deal for all of MUA products (but I think excluding some of their brushes) and with this you would also receive 5 nail polishes for free! Crazy deal huh?
I ended up picking out 8 items and it all came to just under 10 pound!! MUA is a really good quality affordable brand and its definitely one of my new favourites for affordable cosmetics.

So here is a round up of what I received and how I feel about each product :)

This is a round up of all the products that I purchased and then the 5 free nail polishes!

So these are the 5 free nail polishes. They are all the nail quake aka nail crackle effect polishes. I have tried each of these out and they are really great quality and actually work! Because they were being given out free I kind of expected them to be a bit shitty to be honest. The consistency was perfect and not too liquidy like I expected. My favourite has to be the black just because you can pair it with any colour and I love how striking it is.
Shades from Left to Right: Jailbreak, Shiver, Broken Arrow, Quiver, Shattered Ice.

Excuse the black on my nail its from trying out the black nail quake!
So this kind of shocked me, I dropped the pink nail quake onto my bed with the other polishes, not even from a high height or with force at all, and this happened?! The top snapped off and the glass broke. I have never had this happen to a nail polish at all so I'm just thinking that they need to improve the thickness or quality of the bottle. And yes bright pink nail polish did go all over my lovely cream bed covers :(

This is the liquid foundation, I got it in shade soft sand which I think is the lightest shade you can get. Yay for paleness!
As you can see it compliments my milk bottle white skin perfectly :') I love the feel of this foundation, it is super silky and has a great coverage. It isn't too thin like a BB cream yet it isn't thick and cakey  which is something I can't stand when using a foundation. I hate the feeling that my skin can't breathe. A little goes a long way with this foundation so it is really great value for money. It costs £2 which is an ah-mazing price for such a good foundation!

The next product I got is the Hide and Conceal cover up stick.

I got this concealer in shade 1 which is light. It has amazing coverage over spots or blemishes. The only bad thing I have to say about this is that there isn't much actual concealer in the stick as expected, its kind of just half way full. But for £1 it really isn't that much of a problem!

This is the MUA Blusher in shade 4.
Here is a swatch of the blusher and I can even explain how much I love this! It is the perfect bronze rose colour and it looks so natural when applied. I am not a big fan of bright in your face blusher as with my skin tone it tends to look odd, but this blusher adds just the right amount of colour wash to my face. For £1 it is an wonderful Blusher and the pigmentation is great.

So here is the MUA eyebrow pencil in Blonde.

So here is what the pencil looks like swatched in the shade Blonde. I would describe this as a dirty blonde and it matched my roots really well. I have naturally really blonde hair but for some reason right at my roots it is a dirty blonde colour so this colour of pencil really works for my eyebrows. I also love that it comes with a eye brow brush on the end to help shape them. This pencil is £1 and again amazing value for money.

Next up is the 3 in 1 contour pen.

I got mine is shade Auburn. Its a reddish brown colour and is really pretty on.

You can use the different sides of the pen to create different thickness of lines as the pen is shaped in a rectangular way. You can get an extremely thick line, a medium and a very thin line for more precise lined eyes. I love this pen and its a great product to use for a more dressed up party look. Again for £1.50 you can't really go wrong!

This is the MUA felt eyeliner.

I got mine in shade Black. This liner is really great for a very precise line and the tip is nice and thin. My only complaint about this is that you have to do a few coats of this as the pigmentation is not as great as some other felt liners. After about 2 or 3 coats it is nice and dark but with only one coat it looks very thin in terms of pigmentation. Again an amazing price of £2.

This is the MUA intense colour lip liner.
First of all my favourite thing about this lip liner is the convenient sharpener on the lid! This is such a cool idea as I am forever loosing my sharpeners and hate cross contaminating different products, like having to sharpen a lip liner with a sharpener that has been used on a black eye liner!! Arghh not a good luck. Also you will forever have a sharpener available for this liner and once you have used up the liner you can keep the lid and use it for future pencils.

I got the Lip Liner in shade Pink Me Up. The liner is super shiny and goes on nice and smooth to your lips. What I like about this is that it looks a lot more muted when applied to lips in comparison to the swatch, I was slightly worried it would be way to pink for my liking but it is really pretty when on. The only down side to this liner is the lack of shades available. There are only 4 shades so it would be quite hard to match up one of these liners to some shades of lipsticks or glosses. This lip liner is £1.
My final purchase was the MUA lipstick.

I got mine in the shade Juicy, its kind of a coral colour with bases of nude.

I love this type of colour for lipsticks as I am not a fan of bright colours on my lips, they tend to wash me out a bit, especially red. The formula is really smooth and has a great pigmentation. I also love the range of shades they have on offer (15 in total) and there is a few shades I have been eyeing up! This only costs £1!!!

Over all I have been really pleased with the MUA products and the prices are CRAZYYY good!
I have just put in another order as I am in need of a new eye shadow palette and various other things but if you hurry you can get 3 free gifts with your order today until 5pm (I believe GMT time) when you spend £8 or more!! All you do is enter MUA45 at the checkout and you are good to go!  Go go goooo!

Has anyone else tried MUA, if so what do you think of it? Anyone tried any of the products mentioned in this post?
